Conservation Storytelling Workshop with Great Plains Foundation
Since 2020, Conservation Connect Films (formerly The Rusty Mokoro) has proudly contributed a portion of proceeds from every commissioned assignment to support Conservation Storytelling - an initiative we co-founded alongside Mana Meadows Photography and our growing Patreon community.
At its core, Conservation Storytelling is driven by a simple but powerful vision:
To empower conservation organisations with world-class storytelling - ensuring that vital environmental and wildlife stories reach global audiences, inspire action, and drive meaningful change. Through collaborative funding models, mentorship, and innovative partnerships, we aim to create a sustainable future where impactful conservation storytelling is accessible to all - regardless of budget constraints.
This vision came to life in a powerful way when we were invited to Maun, Botswana, to co-facilitate a 5-day Conservation Storytelling Workshop with rangers from the Great Plains Foundation. Alongside Mana Meadows Photography, we worked with these rangers - who serve as Conservation Ambassadors - to help them develop stronger storytelling skills, both in the field and in their daily lives.
Our mission is clear: harness the power of storytelling to amplify conservation efforts. By combining community support, sponsorships, and direct partnerships, we’re able to make professional, high-impact storytelling accessible to conservation initiatives of all sizes. And by mentoring the next generation of storytellers, we’re creating a future where every conservation story - no matter where it comes from - has the power to create real change.
